They typically come in the form of a clear liquid, working as a carrier of nano particles. These nano particles, typically silica (SiO2), and sometimes metals like Titanium (TiO2), are small enough to fill in the pores of your paint and create an extremely smooth and Hydrophobic (water repelling) surface.
Ceramic coatings are not easily removed, like waxes, and tend to last for a few years, as opposed to a few months. Most create a semi permanent barrier, or sacrificial layer that will prevent many stains, etches, etc on multiple different surfaces such as paint, wheels, plastic and glass. It’s important to note that ceramic paint coatings can definitely still be damaged, but will prevent stains, etches and fine-scratches from penetrating into your paint.
By far, the number one advantage of to you as the end user, is the ease of washing. The hydrophobic properties make rinsing off dirt, bugs, and contaminants exponentially easier. It’s the difference of easily wiping a burned egg off a non stick frying pan, compared to a crusty mess in a stainless steel version.
It is important to note, that you must still wash your car and adhere to proper methods. Having a car ceramic coating does not mean that you can simply spray off your car, or neglect the vehicle altogether. We will be happy to show you proper wash methods during our complimentary follow up wash and inspection. We want to help you keep your car looking beautiful for years!
Our ceramic coating acts as a formidable shield, safeguarding the clear-coat from a myriad of contaminants that threaten its integrity. These pollutants, often found in the environment, can lead to unsightly staining, etching, and other cosmetic damages that mar the paint's surface. By applying our advanced ceramic coating, we not only enhance the paint's gloss but also ensure its longevity.
Unlike waxes or sealants, nano coatings maintain their high-gloss for years. A simple wax reveals a freshly waxed look and maintaining your coating with frequently washes and coating toppers will ensure that this freshly waxed look remains permanent.
While their slickness, and low surface tension do help reduce light spider webbing and wash induced marring, they absolutely DO NOT prevent scratches, chips or any other type of major damage.
Think of them as a much better than wax alternative. If you are predominantly looking for chip and scratch resistance, paint protection film, or a combo of film and coating is going to be much better for you.
